Inspired to enter the beauty industry by her Mother, she began her career as a professional makeup artist before deciding to specialize in lashes. Having watched the beauty world evolve over the past decade, she recognized an uptick in the demand for lush, glamorous lashes. Gineann prides herself on her unique approach to lashes and her expertise in tailored extensions. With an emphasis on understanding each client’s needs and lifestyle, she is able to consistently exceed their expectations. Certified through NovaLash®, the world’s leader in eyelash extensions, Gineann is available for eyelash application on request. Barbara Perez - With more than 20 years of experience in the beauty arena, Barbara Perez is a welcome and wonderful addition to Courtney Akai Lash Boutique. Her expertise: permanent makeup, in which she is board certified and licensed. Barbara’s career began by working with top cosmetic surgeons as a post-surgical paramedical aesthetician. Later, she transitioned into the cosmetic industry as a makeup artist and color expert; today, she is noted as one of NYC’s best permanent makeup professionals. Ellen Webb - Lash Specialist. A love of art since a child, Ellen has always had an eye for beauty. Beginning her career ten years ago as a makeup artist and skincare consultant, Ellen received her esthetician license in 2006, thriving in a lash and brow boutique in North Carolina. Realizing her passion for brow design and lash application, Ellen decided to move to NYC to pursue a degree at Atelier Esthétique, a top esthetic school, where she completed the International Technical Electrical program. After graduation, she continued on to work at two of the most well renowned spas in NYC. Ellen is no stranger to VIP clientele and the media. She has worked with everyone from celebrities, athletes and successful professional and has appeared on WPIX 11 and Kelly Ripa's "Dirty Soap." With an advanced certification for Eye Lash extensions, Ellen apprenticed under Courtney Akai, and can be found creating beautiful brow shapes and lashes at the Soho boutique. Tamara Caless - Lash Specialist. Pursuing her passion for beauty, licensed esthetician Tamara Caless has worked at various high-end, technologically advanced spas including MedSpas and laser clinics. At Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., a highly-regarded dermatology clinic, Tamara was the medical esthetician on staff for four years. Continuing onto NYC to train under NOVA Lash and celebrity lash extension specialist Courtney Akai to become a certified lash extension artist. Catering to each specific client's needs with a dedicated and detail-oriented approach to the beauty world, Tamara consistently gives her guests better results than imagined possible. Best known for her ability to create natural, custom shades, Selena takes each client's personality and lifestyle into consideration to determine the perfect color and nail design. Courtney’s journey began as a passionate teenager in cosmetology school, where she discovered that she not only had an eye for the aesthetic, but also a natural talent for its application. Soon, she found herself learning new techniques as a makeup artist, first for Clinique and then Lancome, where she joined the makeup team at Lancome Studio 59, the only Bloomingdale’s supported, free-standing makeup store. Mentored by famed National Makeup Artist and Oprah Winfrey’s go-to makeup man, Courtney quickly became the top makeup artist at Lancome Studio 59.
